Scout 2009 Term 1 Programme

Date Day of week Activity
11th February Wednesday Pioneering work build a ballista and fire water filled balloons. You will get wet so wear appropriate clothing and may be, bring some dry clothes Plan building of rafts for raft race.
18th February Wednesday Build your own hot air balloon and check how much it can lift. Complete plans for raft race.
22nd February Sunday Mud Slide, Raft Race, Family Picnic Day to celebrate Founders Day at Cockle Bay Scout Den. All the family are welcome from 14.00 hrs, scouts may be required in the morning.
25th February Wednesday Athletics badge see how fit you are and can you improve, venue to be advised later.
1st March Sunday Cub Day for those interested, in particular the senior boys who need to complete their service work for Chief Scout Award.
11th March Wednesday Learn how to compose camera shots. This is in preparation for the National Scout Leaders Challenge. Remember you have to take shots of a sunrise and sunset at your camp later in the term.
18th March Wednesday More preparation for camp including transport, budget, clothing, menu and starlight feast. Make a Planisphere and learn how to use a telescope.
25th March Wednesday Meet at supermarket to purchase food for camp and finish all checks for the camp.
27th to 29th March Friday to Sunday Caving Camp Sunset Sunrise Hike Camp at Waipu this is a must do camp for all boys even if you don't go caving you can take part fully in the hike and sunset/sunrise National photography challenge.
1st April Wednesday Review progress with athletics badge, measure improvements achieved and check you have met National Standards for the Badge. Check out marching skills ahead of Anzac Day Parade.
8th April Wednesday End of term visit from Cub Pack Fun night for all. Bring a plate, theme will be ALIENS.

Important Notices
  1. 25th April - Anzac Day Parade notices will be provided later, remember it is a requirement of the Award Scheme that you attend at least one parade.
  2. 19th-26th April - Scout Aviation School Fielding cost $275. See me ASAP if you wish to attend.
