How High Can Keas Go?

Kea Scouts and Leaders were challenged to climb to the top as part of the term 1 national programme theme "Moving Mountains".

First, they had to find a mountain, hill or high place (church tower, tall office block) to climb to the top of. Then they needed to discover how many vertical metres this would be, and multiply the number of people climbing by the height in metres; to calculate their challenge total.

Captain Musick Air Scouts, Manukau Zone, completed their mountain challenge on Mon 10th March. We climbed Pigeon Mountain Volcano, which is 55 metres high and there were 33 of us making our challenge total 1815. The photo is of the Keas at the top with Jenis Baldock (group leader) and Anne-Marie Wilkins (section leader). We had a great evening and the weather was perfect for our adventure.
